The National Bank of Ukraine has launched a new series of 10-hryvnia commemorative coins titled "We Are Strong. We Are Together." The coins will feature a stylized map of Ukraine with clearly defined administrative boundaries and, on the reverse, an image of one of Ukraine’s regions replacing the portrait of Hetman Ivan Mazepa, the NBU press service reported.

On December 1, the first three coins in the series — dedicated to Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions as the territories that were the first to face Russian aggression — were put into circulation.

The NBU plans to continue issuing circulating commemorative coins in this series over the next two years, dedicating a coin to each region of Ukraine. A total of 54 million coins of this design will be issued.

According to the NBU, as of November 1, 2025, almost 331 million 10-hryvnia coins were in circulation.

All new coins will circulate alongside the existing 10-hryvnia coins. Banks and IT companies will gradually receive them for distribution to customers.

The new series is dedicated to Ukraine’s unity, indivisibility, and administrative-territorial structure.

"We are strong, we are together — this is the main message the NBU conveys with the new series of commemorative coins. They remind us that the country’s territorial integrity, an unshakable principle enshrined in the Constitution of Ukraine, must remain unchanged. Each region of Ukraine has its own history, but we are all united," said NBU Governor Andriy Pyshnyi.

  • A 10-hryvnia coin featuring Hetman Mazepa was introduced in 2020. Since 2022, the National Bank has issued 13 commemorative 10-hryvnia coins dedicated to Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
